Hey Friends!
First off, we wanted to provide an important update regarding the garage sale date: To avoid conflicting with Mother’s day, the date for the garage sale is shifting to the 6th of May. Also, the date for the dumpster day was misprinted in the last newsletter, and should be the 20th of May, not the 21st.
Our last meeting was an eventful one. Chief Echevarria paid us a visit and after introducing himself, spoke on ways the police department tries to increase engagement with the community. One way is through the Tip411. He finished his time with us answering questions from the attendees.
Councilman Grayeb also spoke, giving his insight and introducing city engineer, Andrea Klopfenstein, who provided a short update on the Merle Lane culvert project.
Assistant City Manager Kimberly Richardson also spoke, encouraging us to visit the newly revamped city website: peoriagov.org
We discussed potentially renaming the neighborhood, but after conducting a Nextdoor poll since the last meeting, the board has decided to let the current name remain.
Quarterly Joke!

Quarterly Poem
We never know how high we are (1176)
Emily Dickinson
We never know how high we are
Till we are called to rise;
And then, if we are true to plan,
Our statures touch the skies—
The Heroism we recite
Would be a daily thing,
Did not ourselves the Cubits warp
For fear to be a King—
Around the Blocks
