Hey Folks!

Hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season. In our last meeting we had new officer elections. In case you missed it, please welcome Karen Yee to the newly created event coordinator position as well as Timothy Albertson as our new Secretary. As our new Secretary he will be succeeding Jolene Christie. If you run into her please be sure to thank Jolene for all her help these past years.

Thank you to everyone that could attend the Merel Meeting on November 10th. The City engineer presented the plans for the culvert replacement and responded to questions from the group. Several diverse and passionate voices were heard during the meeting.

President’s Corner

NFNA received a beautification grant of $4800 approved by the City of Peoria for construction of three subdivision signs. Two will be placed on each end of Bigelow / War Memorial and Bigelow / Forrest Hill. and one on Richwoods Blvd and Sheridan. 7 new trees were purchased by the city and planted on Bigelow Blvd Thank you Ryan Cannon of Re/Max Traders for donating 12 yard sign frames to NFNA. They will replace the old ones we’ve been using

January 17th, 2022 - First Quarterly Association Meeting
When: Meet and Greet at 6:00PM, Meeting to follow at 6:30PM
Where: St Paul Episcopal Church on North St. The room for this meeting is at the very end of the hall.
Agenda:

1. Construction Updates - Merle Lane and mini grant program
2. Council member Chuck Grayeb Update
3. (Hopefully) Chief Echevarria update
4. Neighborhood Bylaws Discussion to include renaming neighborhood and officer requirement to live in neighborhood.
5. Neighborhood board update and introductions to board members and committee members

May 14th, 2023 - Spring Garage Sale
When: 8:00AM to 2:00PM
Rain Date: May 21st
Note: We will announce this in The Journal Star. Plan your own sale and install signs if you wish.

May 21st, 2023 - Dumpster Day
When: 8:00AM to 12:00PM
Where: West Parking lot of St. Paul Episcopal Church
Note: Most household items accepted, some items such as TV’s and Electronics may require a disposal fee

Treasurer’s Report as of June 30, 2021

Thanks for your dues for NFNA: If you have not turned in your registration for 2022, please do so as soon as possible. It is only $10.00. If you are new to the neighborhood in 2022 it is Free. Just send your name and address information to the Treasurer. A registration form is on the NextDoor website for your convenience.
